Porsche Shifts Gears from High-End Cars to Expensive Handbags
Porsche Design is celebrating its 40th anniversary with its first collection of women’s handbags.
The 20-item line includes variations on a versatile and fabulous purse known as the Twin Bag, and is slated to hit stores in March 2013.
Porsche's CEO, Juergen Gessler said, “In 2009, we launched a women’s collection and we thought about the possibilities for Porsche Design to enter this competitive handbag market. From our point of view, with this collection, we found the perfect combination of our iconic style with function.”
Gessler added, “When we look at our female customer, it’s a woman in business who is very successful. She wants to have a sleek, iconic style that’s fashionable and professional.”
Porsche Design’s 40th Anniversary Twin Bag ranges in price from $1,600 to $24,500.
